The city of Hamelin is plagued by rats — a true rat catastrophe. A mysterious piper arrives and promises to drive the pests away. But if this pied piper can bewitch the rats with his music, what else might he be capable of?

A maximum theatrical experience with minimal means. The characters in this interactive piece, Hyppy and Naru, are experts in bouncing. They never get bored when their toys are jump ropes. With them, they take the audience to the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, organize a zany sports competition, and even put on their very own circus show.

Welcome aboard this rhythmic jumping adventure, but watch out—you might find yourself tied up before you know it!

Choreographer Jaakko Toivonen often draws inspiration for his dance works from his own childhood. A childhood where self-invented adventures were the most beloved games. A sandbox could turn into a hotel, a wardrobe into a portal to another dimension, and bike racks into a stable. Through play, one can test the limits of the imagination. And the dance piece Hyppynarutus does just that!

Minimaalisilla keinoilla maksimaalinen teatterikokemus. Vuorovaikutteisen teoksen hahmot, Hyppy ja Naru ovat pomppimisen erikoisasiantuntijoita. Heillä ei käy aika pitkäksi, kun leluina ovat hyppynarut. Niiden avulla he vievät katsojat maailman korkeimmalle vuorelle Mount Everestille, laittavat pystyyn hullunkuriset urheilukisat ja toteuttavat jopa ikioman sirkusesityksen.

Koreografi Jaakko Toivonen hakee tanssiteoksiinsa usein inspiraatiota omasta lapsuudestaan. Lapsuudesta, jossa itsekeksityt seikkailut olivat kaikkein mieluisimpia leikkejä. Hiekkalaatikko saattoi muuttua hotelliksi, vaatekaappi portaaliksi toiseen ulottuvuuteen ja pyörätelineet hevostalliksi. Leikin avulla voi koetella mielikuvituksen rajoja. ### **– a heartwarming encounter of music, poetry, and dance**

*You figured it out, you love,* is a musical performance lasting about 40 minutes that takes the audience on a journey through the different shades of love—for another person, for longing, and for life itself.

Three performers take the stage: a musician and two stage performers. The performance is built around beloved Finnish songs, punctuated by poetic texts and subtle moments of dance. Dancer Laura Kallas’s movement brings sensitivity and a physical presence to the work.

The musical world of the piece is familiar and accessible to the audience—featuring beloved songs by Badding, Hector, Juha Tapio, and Eppu Normaali, among others. The production particularly appeals to a senior audience but touches people of all ages.

*Olet perillä, sinä rakastat* on noin 40 minuutin mittainen musiikillinen esitys, joka kuljettaa katsojan rakkauden eri sävyihin, toiseen ihmiseen, kaipuuseen ja itse elämään.

Lavalla nähdään kolme esiintyjää: muusikko ja kaksi näyttämöllistä tulkitsijaa. Esitys rakentuu rakastettujen suomalaisten laulujen ympärille, joita rytmittävät runolliset tekstit ja hienovaraiset tanssilliset hetket. Tanssitaiteilija Laura Kallaksen liike tuo teokseen herkkyyttä ja kehollista läsnäoloa.

Teoksen musiikillinen maailma on yleisölle tuttu ja helposti lähestyttävä – mukana ovat mm. Baddingin, Hectorin, Juha Tapion ja Eppu Normaalin rakastetut kappaleet. Kokonaisuus puhuttelee erityisesti seniori-ikäistä yleisöä, mutta koskettaa kaikenikäisiä.

### **– a musical adventure to the roots of Finnish song**

*The Song Hunters* is a fast-paced and humorous musical theater production that delves into the roots of the Finnish song tradition.

The story begins when Asiasta-Tietämätön meets two somewhat eccentric guides—Laulunhistoriat. These good-natured and slightly bumbling characters lead him on a journey through the ages: from archival recordings to sleigh songs and from runo singing to the present day.

Along the way, it becomes clear how the songs of the past still live on in today’s music—in schlager, rock, pop, and rap. The performance combines live music, storytelling, and playful theatricality in a way that captivates young audiences.

On stage, you’ll also meet colorful characters ranging from market vendors to Elias Lönnrot, and knowledge accumulates almost unnoticed, in a fun and collaborative way.

*Laulumetsästäjät* on vauhdikas ja humoristinen musiikkiteatteriesitys, jossa sukelletaan suomalaisen lauluperinteen juurille.

Tarina alkaa, kun Asiasta-Tietämätön kohtaa kaksi hieman omalaatuista opasta – Laulunhistoriat. Nämä hyväntahtoiset ja vähän homssuiset hahmot johdattavat hänet matkalle halki aikojen: arkkiveisuista rekilauluihin ja runolaulusta tähän päivään.

Matkan varrella selviää, miten menneiden aikojen laulut elävät yhä tämän päivän musiikissa – iskelmässä, rockissa, popissa ja räpissä. Esitys yhdistelee elävää musiikkia, tarinankerrontaa ja leikillistä näyttämöllisyyttä tavalla, joka tempaa mukaansa nuoren yleisön.

Lavalla kohdataan myös värikkäitä hahmoja markkinamiehistä Elias Lönnrotiin, ja tieto karttuu kuin huomaamatta, hauskasti ja yhdessä.

This musical performance, aimed at adults and seniors, takes you on a journey into the world of Finnish film music—into that atmosphere created when melodies linger in your ears and scenes from decades past come vividly to mind. On stage, a sense of familiarity and the warmth of nostalgia come to life as we hear gems of film music from different decades.

The program features a diverse selection of moods, including: Akseli and Elina’s Wedding Waltz, Seven Times Seven, and Condemned to Wander. Each song carries a piece of Finnish film history—moments that will never be forgotten.

Amidst the music, we’ll take brief trips back in time to the world of the films themselves—recalling the stories and moods that gave birth to these songs in their day. So, get ready for a musical cinematic moment where you can enjoy, reminisce, and maybe even hum along a little.

Tässä aikuisille ja senioreille suunnatussa musiikkiesityksessä sukelletaan suomalaisen elokuvamusiikin maailmaan – siihen tunnelmaan, joka syntyy, kun sävelet jäävät soimaan korvamatona ja kohtaukset piirtyvät muistiin vuosikymmenten takaa. Lavalla heräävät eloon tuttuuden tunne ja nostalgian lämpö, kun kuullaan elokuvamusiikin helmiä eri vuosikymmeniltä.

Ohjelmistossa kuullaan monipuolinen kattaus tunnelmia: mm. Akselin ja Elinan häävalssi, Seitsemän kertaa seitsemän, Tuomittuna kulkemaan. Jokainen kappale kantaa mukanaan palaansa suomalaisesta elokuvahistoriasta – hetkiä, joita ei unohdeta.

Musiikin lomassa tehdään pieniä aikamatkoja itse elokuvien maailmaan – muistelemme tarinoita ja tunnelmia, joista nämä kappaleet ovat aikanaan syntyneet. Luvassa on siis musiikillinen elokuvahetki, jossa saa nauttia, muistaa ja ehkä vähän hyräilläkin mukana.

Male Live offers snapshots of the world of men. It consists of images and impressions of what it means to be—and not to be—a man. What is a man? What are the many roles of a man? A man is one of the legal genders. What else?

This work delves deeply into the complexity of masculinity and how the role of a man is experienced and perceived in our society. It highlights how a man’s role does not arise out of thin air. It is not merely biology or “natural,” but is built upon expectations, relationships, and life experiences.

This work explores how masculinity can be sensitive or even painful, yet at the same time full of bursts of joy and exuberance. Uros Live is a thought-provoking look at the essence of being a man and how norms shape our understanding of masculinity.

**Uros Live** on tuokiokuvia uroiden maailmasta. Se on kuvia ja tunnelmia miehenä olemisesta ja olemattomuudesta. Mikä on mies? Mitkä ovat miehen monet roolit? Mies on yksi juridisista sukupuolista. Mitä muuta?

Tämä teos pureutuu syvälle maskuliinisuuden monimutkaisuuteen ja siihen kuinka miehen rooli koetaan ja nähdään yhteiskunnassamme. Se korostaa sitä kuinka miehen rooli ei synny tyhjästä. Se ei ole pelkästään biologiaa tai “luonnollista” vaan se rakentuu odotuksista, ihmissuhteista sekä elämän kokemuksista. 

Teos kertoo kuinka maskuliinisuus voi olla herkkää tai jopa kipeää mutta samalla täynnä ilon purskahduksia ja räimettä. Uros Live on ajatuksia herättävä katsaus miehen olemukseen ja siihen, kuinka normit muokkaavat käsitystä miehisyydestä.

Belgian actor, director, and singer-songwriter Jacques Brel has sold over 25 million records, a testament to the popularity and timelessness of his songs. Brel’s songs are known as chansons, and the secret to his success may well lie in the lyrics. In fact, Jacques Brel has also been called a poet because of his lyrics. Brel is considered one of the greatest French-language songwriters of all time, and his lyrics have been translated into many languages. 

In this performance, the musicians let loose. At times they charge like bulls toward death, and at times they hold their breath so as not to say too much. The concert consists of gems from Brel’s oeuvre, translated into Finnish.

Jacques Brel’s songs speak grandly of life: of love, death, and social observations. Even somber topics are handled with Brel’s characteristic humor. Amsterdam, The Song of the Old Lovers (La chanson des vieux amants), If You Leave Me Now (Ne me quitte pas), and other chanson classics transport the listener to the streets of Amsterdam and from there to tender yet bittersweet love.

The ensemble is conducted by Jukka Nurmela, who aims to bring the performance close to the intimate and dimly lit atmosphere of the club gigs from the early days of Brel’s career. In addition to Nurmela’s double bass, the ensemble features Anne-Mari Kanniainen on accordion and Lauri Uusitalo on piano. Actor Joni Kuokkanen interprets Brel’s lyrics through his singing.

Belgialainen näyttelijä, ohjaaja ja laulaja-lauluntekijä Jacques Brel on myynyt yli 25 miljoonaa levyä, mikä kertoo hänen kappaleidensa suosiosta ja ajattomuudesta. Brelin kappaleita kutsutaan chansoneiksi, ja hänen menestyksensä salaisuus on ehkä juuri laulujen teksteissä. Jacques Breliä onkin sanottu tekstiensä vuoksi myös runoilijaksi. Breliä pidetään yhtenä kaikkien aikojen parhaana ranskankielisenä säveltäjänä, ja hänen tekstejään on käännetty monelle kielelle. 

Tässä esityksessä muusikot päästävät kaiken irti. Välillä juostaan kuin härät kohti kuolemaa ja välillä pidätetään hengitystä, jotta ei sanottaisi liikaa. Konsertti koostuu Brelin tuotannon helmistä, jotka on käännetty suomenkielelle.

Jacques Brelin laulut kertovat isosti elämästä; rakkaudesta, kuolemasta, yhteiskunnallisista havainnoista. Synkkiäkin aiheita käsitellään hulvattomasti Brelin tapaan. *Amsterdam*, *Vanhojen rakastavaisten laulu* (La chanson des vieux amants), *Jos nyt menet pois* (Ne me quitte pas) ja muut chanson-klassikot vievät kuulijan Amsterdamin kaduille ja sieltä aina hellään ja katkeraan rakkauteen.

Kokoonpanon kapellimestarina toimii Jukka Nurmela, joka haluaa tuoda esityksen lähelle Brelin uran alkuaikojen intiimien ja hämyisten klubikeikkojen tunnelmaa. Nurmelan kontrabasson lisäksi kokoonpanossa kuullaan Anne-Mari Kanniaisen harmonikkaa ja Lauri Uusitalon pianoa. Brelin tekstejä tulkitsee laulullaan näyttelijä Joni Kuokkanen.
