Rovaniemi lies at the confluence of two rivers: the Ounasjoki and the Kemijoki meet in the center of the city. The river flows through the city like a pulsating vein. It flows majestically under several bridges. The bridges spanning the rivers connect different parts of the city. Rovaniemi is also bisected by a highway running deep through the city like a rail. You can cross Highway 4 via several bridges. People and history pass over these bridges.
