Event Piaf
We are now living in a time when the melodies of the past come to life, merging with the emotions and perspectives of today. This stirs within us a deep desire to better understand life. The Event Piaf takes you on a journey through different eras and spaces, using the power of music and movement to create a visual and emotional fresco pulsating to the rhythm of Piaf’s heart.
As part of Tanssiteatteri Rimpparemmin’s 50th-anniversary celebration, director-choreographer Ari Numminen presents the musical-filled premiere of Event Piaf. In Event Piaf, echoes of significant global changes and somber tones from history resound. Yet, amidst it all, there is the sound of love – the difficulty of living, loving, and existing, reaching towards the light.
How to live life in its entirety? How to laugh when you want to cry? The accordion wails beneath the touch of the player, and skin and the walls of the house breathe in unison.
Event Piaf is a journey that begins in France and ends up in the heart of Edith Piaf through a hell of a twist.
